Camping at Detroit Lake

We went camping with Ember for the first time. We went to Detroit Lake for 4 days/3 nights. We had a great time. At night we could see lots of stars, sattelites and shooting stars.

This was one of two emergency potty stops we had. Funny since we only had about an hour and half drive.

First night we made campfire pizza. Ember is "helping" make it, if you count eating all the ingredients.

Daddy found a nice little spot off of a forestry road the day before. Now taking mom and ember there. It was very peaceful and right next to a little creek. Apperently you can get a forestry pass and put up a camp site where ever. Have to look into that with some nice little hidden spots like this.

And as an addition. Ember had a tattoo she was wearing the whole trip. It has now worn off leaving a funny badge shaped tan line. Thanks for the tattoo grandma :p.

July Randomness

A couple random things from the month.

Ember and mama in the pool. Ember just jumping into the pool. This is probably her favorite part right next to the weels on the bus.

Ember had brought her bear into the kitchen and made little beds. She was then quiet for a very long time and waiting for mama to come in and check in on her and then she busted up laughing.

4th of July

It has again been a while since there have been any updates posted. Will try and back date some.

We had a good time for the 4th. Was a warm 3 day weekend. Had some fireworks with the neighbors and then wen out to watch some fireworks at night. The park we went to was pretty packed and had people all over the place setting off fireworks. So it did not take long to overload Ember. Even through this she seemed to enjoy the show.

Summer activities

This summer Em has quite a bit of activities. On Monday evenings she has a tumbling class. She runs around like crazy in it running from activity to activity and dancing to the music. It is really hard to get a good picture of her since she is running around so much.

Here is a nice action shot of her jumping (more like falling) off a wedge. She bounces up and goes back for more.

Then on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons she has her pool class. This is a nice one with the hot summer days. Mommy and Daddy usually alternate who goes in with her.

First Trip Fishing

This was an interesting day. We had planned on heading out for some fishing. Would also be the first time we took Em out fishing. Well head out the front door to start loading the car up in the morning and the cars ties was just facing the right way. Could see where a screw had gone into the tire. So instead of heading right out to the lake, had to go searching for an open tire place on a Sunday.

After all that the trip was fun. Ember enjoyed the fishing and being outside.

Embers 2nd BDay

Today Em turned the big 2. To celebrate, this last weekend we had her 2nd bday party. There was an earthy, recycled presents and bug theme. There were all kinds of activities mama worked pretty hard at planning. There were even quite a few we had we did not get to.

All the kids decorating little favor bags. There were fabric markers, stickers and some pins. This was pretty fun with lots of trading markers and looking at each others bags.






Then there was Em's cake. This was an Awsome cake made by The Desert Tray with the lady bug, butterfly and bug theme. Some of us were afraid to cut into it because it was so pretty. So our friend Abram was brave enough to be the butcher and slice it.

Ember had been practicing her blowing out of candles preparing for this moment. She knew what to do.

While the cake was being cut up and served up, Another great idea of mama's was the Limbo. All the kids seemed to know off the bat what to do here.

This had to be the quietest time. Everyone was so busy digging into the cake, there was barly a peep. we had such reviews of "best day of my life".

Valentines Day

For valentines day, we all went out for a dinner at a Cafe for grownups that has a watched play area for kids called Me Too. We all had a good time, Ember going back and forth playing and visiting us and us getting some time alone.
