We are way behind on updates on Embers blog. Oops, how time flys.

Here are some pics from Zoo lights we went to on Sunday night at the Portland Zoo.

Ember was hesitant at first of the dressed up in costume animals. I had to give this polar bear a high 5 to show he was an ok guy. The next one we saw ((a lion of course) not pictured here), she was ok with hugging and giving 5. Notice her doll (Bubba) tucked safely in her jacket.

Big Truck Day

Yesterday we went to Big Truck Day at the local parks district held. It was very fun getting into the big vehicles with Ember.


Ember in the business end of a highway painter. She was getting tired but this truck really got her into the event.

We were not expecting this, so it was an added bonus. There was a life flight helecopter there. Got to see it take off and land up close.

More Tumbling

We are still going to tumbling every Monday evening. She sure enjoys it and is getting better and some of the activities. Mommy and daddy enjoy the running around with her as well.

Some more hanging. She saw a boy that is a little older do a little flip on the bar. She actually asked for help putting her feet on the bar and hanging upside down. Mommy missed that the first time, so convinced her to do it again for mommy. Not quite to the fliping over yet.

Berry Picking

After a week with over 100 degree weather, it was nice to be in the 90's. We decided to go for some berry picking with the neighbors. There were all kinds of berrys there, but not all in season or some all picked out.

Camping at Detroit Lake

We went camping with Ember for the first time. We went to Detroit Lake for 4 days/3 nights. We had a great time. At night we could see lots of stars, sattelites and shooting stars.

This was one of two emergency potty stops we had. Funny since we only had about an hour and half drive.

First night we made campfire pizza. Ember is "helping" make it, if you count eating all the ingredients.

Daddy found a nice little spot off of a forestry road the day before. Now taking mom and ember there. It was very peaceful and right next to a little creek. Apperently you can get a forestry pass and put up a camp site where ever. Have to look into that with some nice little hidden spots like this.

And as an addition. Ember had a tattoo she was wearing the whole trip. It has now worn off leaving a funny badge shaped tan line. Thanks for the tattoo grandma :p.

July Randomness

A couple random things from the month.

Ember and mama in the pool. Ember just jumping into the pool. This is probably her favorite part right next to the weels on the bus.


Another one of her favorite parts as you can see by the look on her face.


Ember had brought her bear into the kitchen and made little beds. She was then quiet for a very long time and waiting for mama to come in and check in on her and then she busted up laughing.
